Grazia Gallo
“Fragments of home”
Wissel 1227 10 april 2025Grazia Gallo is a visual artist, hairdresser, and researcher. Her practice revolves around themes of home in relation to migration, nostalgia, working-class identity, and social housing architecture. Through environments created with found objects, textiles, ceramics, and other materials, she invites viewers to step into spaces where her personal memories serve as portals to reimagine and build new worlds.
This work reflects a collaborative effort by La Grazieria, which creates spaces for connection and exchange. Using the haircut as a gesture of care and resistance, it reimagines the archive as a living form shaped by collective memory. The print features compositions made from the hair of participants in La Grazieria’s pop-up salon tour.
